Infant Restraint/Carrier Inspection
My husband and I were joking that the baby could not come yet because we did not have her car seat installed and inspected yet! My co-teachers were telling me that babies don't care if you're ready or not! They come when they want to!
But at last we had the car seat inspected. It took a while because my husband was trying to make an appointment for weeks but no one is returning his call . Finally, last week somebody called him back, and the good thing about it was the venue is the hospital where I am supposed to deliver so we already know where it is supposed to be. We really tried putting the baby's car seat. We read both the car's manual and the infant restraint/carrier owner's manual, but it is mostly picture and we are not really sure what we are doing! (We find the missing washer for the stroller's wheel though. It was in the car seat's base; no wonder we could not find it anywhere on the floor when we are assembling the stroller!) Anyway, the car seat base's strap seemed too short and we don't know why there are two latch on the car when there is only one hook on the infant car seat. Needless to say my husband drove to the inspection without the car seat being done yet. We apologized about it and the volunteer who attended to us is very nice about it! She read the car manual and the the infant restraint/carrier manual and she just did it! She told us that we could only use one not both ! If we use the latch system which is what she did, we don't use the hook! My! The volunteers are very efficient it took less than an hour for the whole installation and inspection!

We finally finish assembling our baby's stroller. Putting it together is not so hard after all. It is just following instruction but when my husband flipped the stroller, we somehow lost one of the washer that goes into one of the wheels . We looked everywhere in all the corners of the room and even under the carpets thinking that it could have rolled over somewhere but couldn't find it so we didn't finish it during the first try. I had to order another washer from Graco. The shipping actually cost more than the washer. It also took a few days before it arrived. Looking at the assembled stroller is nice. Now we only need to figure out how to install the baby's car seat.

Strep B Culture exam
I had blood test and my strep B culture exam last visit and I felt like I'm a guinea pig. A senior nurse was supervising the nurse who was doing the blood test! when the more experienced nurse asked her if she did a strep culture before the younger one said not yet so the senior nurse said to her I'll show you how it's done! (they were discussing it as if I'm not in the room or I could not perfectly understand them! Maybe because I'm Asian). The senior nurse left for a while while the younger one took at least 2 vials of blood for the blood test. After a while the senior one returned and demonstrated while the younger one looked on. The situation is done and over in seconds but awkward enough already without a third person looking on but what can I do? I definitely am looking for another clinic for my next pregnancy!
Baby Shower
Today, my co-teacher organized a baby shower for me! It was a very nice surprise! She was so very creative, from the presentation of the food to the decorations! My husband was commenting about her talents when I was unpacking the tables' centerpieces that she arranged out of disposable diapers, milk bottles and safety kit ! Everything was deliciously done! I was very overwhelmed! My colleagues are very nice! My baby would have more than enough cute baby clothes! And even though I'm breastfeeding, we could use the milk bottles and the breast pump when I have to leave the baby with my husband when I am attending graduate classes this coming school year.

Sonograms
I'm now in my 36 weeks of pregnancy! I'm also having sonograms every visit to my OBGYN and or midwife! I wonder if all these sonograms are necessary! Both of them are telling me that it does not really hurt my baby! But how well do they know? What is true today may not be true in the future! Aside from that I don't know if I'm very sensitive but I can feel the prick of current from the probe when the sonographer is doing it!
